Our Casual Style at the Walt Disney Concert Hall

IMG_5502

The last time I went into downtown Los Angeles, I shot some new friends and wore some classic menswear, ranging from ivy style to a modern interpretation of 1930’s tailoring.  However, I decided to change things up this time.  I thought I would be fun to show more of our casual side, this time even more dressed down than our previous post on vintage casual.  Our plans for the Broad didn’t work out, so we were able to explore and shoot next door at the wonderfully photogenic Walt Disney Concert Hall.

The Levi’s 501 CT: High Rise Selvedge Denim

IMG_8608
Everyone knows that I’m a big proponent of high rise trousers.  They make you look slimmer and make your legs look longer; you can’t lose while wearing them!  However, you can’t wear trousers everyday.  Even I don’t do that.  There are days when I wear jeans, but I seldom wear them with tailored clothing (button ups, jackets, etc) due to the fact that most jeans out there have a super low rise.  I had tried on some vintage denim that had a high-rise but it was way out of price range. However Levis came through with the 501 CT line, which have become my go to jean.

Thanks to the cooler weather, Rajesh and I took this opportunity to experiment with both layers and ball caps. It’s not the newest of trends, but it’s definitely something new for both of us. How do you think we did?

This weekend, Spencer and I went to Inspiration LA, a huge vintage gathering in Southern California.  At the REEF in Downtown Los Angeles, multitudes of dealers selling vintage apparel, reproduction garments, and other crafts come together to present their wares to the public.

Styles of the 2015 Vintage Fashion Expo

This weekend I was able to go to the 2015 Vintage Fashion Expo in Downtown Los Angeles.  Vintage fashion is a personal hobby of mine.  While I do love wearing modern clothes, there is something about the cut and patterns of the 1920s-1950’s that interest me.  So this weekend, I went to the Expo wearing one of my favourite and most unique vintage pieces.  I was also able to snap a few shots of people’s fashion  that I enjoyed!
