I always advocate trying to make menswear look natural and easy by taking dorky pictures. Especially if it’s in the cool, LA Arts District. It’s just nice to be dressed up with your friends, acting like yourselves instead of as models who are paid to hold a bottle of soda.
That title is a mouthful, but it’s exactly what this beast of a jacket is. They really don’t make jackets like this anymore!
It seems that in the world of menswear, hats are a bit of a touchy subject. I think most of us agree that it’s an elegant piece that provides some old school vibes, but it’s difficult to put into practice. In those conversations, it’s mainly about fedoras and flat caps where the negative comments tend to be directed toward ballcaps and beanies. But truth be told, I really like the beanie.
An elegant DB is a must for any classic or vintage menswear enthusiast. But do I taper the legs to make it more “timeless”?
I normally don’t advocate anything from the 1970’s, but I’ll have to make an exception for these shoes. The Wallace & Barnes P204 is the right amount of outrageous that I’ve needed to inject into my wardrobe!

I apologize for the ass shot, but these cinch-back trousers make it worth it. They’re definitely hard to find, as I’d only seen them in pictures and illustrations before now!

Rain in LA is like manna from heaven, since it seems that the state of California is perpetually on the brink of a drought. Other than giving us some much needed water, it also gives me a reason to break out my vintage trench coat.
