One of the questions I get from guys who have come across my style is “why do you like vintage”? Well the truth of the matter is, I don’t always like to wear vintage.  There are a few things that modern manufacturers get right that I enjoy (extremely soft tailoring is one). My Search for Brown Suede Chukkas ft. the Kempton Boot from Loake

For those of you who follow my instagram account, you’ll know that I’ve been looking for a good pair of suede chukka boots for a little while now.  They’re a classic piece of menswear that can go with almost everything in your wardrobe (no surprise there).  After considering my options, I finally got some.  They’re actually the first piece of footwear that I’ve paid full price on.

Thrift Store Find: The 1960’s Olive Green Herringbone Sack Sportcoat

We’ve been talking about eBay a lot lately, thanks to the 3 for $75 deal and the recent vintage Brooks Brothers sack suit.  Even though eBay is highly curated (which makes it easy to find cool vintage pieces), nothing beats the thrill of hunting for cool stuff at thrift stores like Goodwill or Savers.  My latest pick up was this amazing, almost-deadstock olive green sack jacket!

Purchased on eBay: The 1960’s Brooks Brothers Blue Glen Plaid Suit

While I have gotten extremely lucky buying suits at Goodwill, eBay always seems to hold up, especially if you want something ivy!  Unlike 1930’s suits or modern Ring Jacket suits, vintage pieces from the 1960s-1970s tends to be fairly cheap and readily available.   This amazing mid-to-late 1960s suit from Brooks Brothers is no exception and perfect for spring!
