Outfits at an Exceedingly Warm Fall Soiree
Fall is supposed to be the time of year when the weather starts to cool down a bit, but that definitely wasn’t the case for this Dapper Day. Even though the temperature was almost 100 degrees on Dapper Day, park-goers still showed up in their classy clothes! Here, we look at some of the awesome menswear that we thought stood out to us!
An Art Deco Cruise
Before airplanes and road trips took over America, the cruise was the premier vacation. You get to sail to exotic places while dining with the captain, play shuffleboard with your neighbors, or simply take a stroll on the deck to gaze upon the starlight reflected on the sea. Back then, passengers didn’t wear oversized hawaiian shirts or lengthy board shorts. In the 1930s, people wore their very best while on vacation. They had casual jackets and pants that today would look too dressy, for even the office. Keeping with tradition, Spencer and I wore our Sunday best for a little Art Deco cruise on the grand Queen Mary. Read More
How and Where To Buy Clothes
A question I get asked most often is where I get all my clothes. The second most asked question is how do I afford it. While its true dressing well can be expensive, it’s only expensive when you go for high end products and never shop sales. Here, I’m going to explain to you some of the tricks of the trade I’ve used to amass my wardrobe. Just remember that my style is very affordable.
Keep Your Head Cool With Summer Straw
Guys today rock felt fedoras, snapbacks, and beanies throughout the year, but there is only one type of material that works best for hats in summer: straw. These straw hats are guaranteed to keep the sun out of your face and help you look classy during these next hot months. But which one is right for you? Check out four of my favourite styles!
Suiting Up: Hemming Your Dang Pants
Here’s a short little post on something super important to do after buying a suit. Nothing is ever good “simply off the rack”. No matter if you got it at Goodwill, H&M, or a high end store, a suit will always need tailoring. Why? Because you’re not a mannequin, you’re you. You have a unique body type, so something that was mass produced will not automatically look good. For this post, we’re going to focus on the length of your pants.
“Dangerously Diverse” feat. Jay
Guys tend to have one style. Raj for example, only sticks to the preppy essentials. Jay on the other hand doesn’t limit himself to just one specific style; he has such an expansive closet that he can create a series of different looks. Having a diverse style allows you to break out of your comfort zone and have outfits for any occasion. In this feature, Jay wears three different outfits that really break the mold.
Park Picnic Style
I wasn’t planning on doing a full blog post today, but the fact that everyone looked great and that there was a garden in the park warranted a need for one! Here, we show you some basic picnic styles on everyone! Before, “American sportswear” was the term for clothes that were meant to be worn casually. Now, you can literally wear anything everywhere. So check out what everyone brought to the table! Each person’s outfits really shows their personal style.
“Warm and Windy” – Spring Outfits to Wear to Class
It’s time to put away the coats and scarves, because spring is finally here! Even though the heat is slowly picking up, it’s still pretty windy out there, ensuring some chilly nights. This doesn’t mean you have to dress down, however; look at this as an opportunity to try some new looks! Today, the team brings you some great outfits to break out this Spring!
A “Mad Men” Evening feat. Spencer and Jay
It is my belief that the rise of menswear in this modern era has its roots in the critically-acclaimed show “Mad Men”. Guys started wearing suits more, putting a pocket square in that razor thin square fold, and even brought the fedora back in some circles. A while ago, I had the pleasure of shooting Spencer and Jay, the most well dressed high schoolers I know. They love the show and carefully evoke the style in their outfits. As we had a swell dinner at South Coast Plaza, I just had to snap some pictures of these guys!
