Tweed is Perfect for Fall

There’s nothing more fall than tweed!  This past weekend, I was able to enjoy not only a dinner with my family but with my friends.  My outfit for the family party was casual, but I was able to break out the old tweed suit for a dinner party hosted by my pals, Spencer and Jay.  Us three got into the spirit of fall by wearing some dope tweed outfits!  We’ve got all three variations of tweed in here:  herringbone, fleck, and glen plaid! Every year, La Sierra University hosts a Meet the Firms Night, an event where business and students get to interact and develop their networks.  Unfortunately, people come to the event wearing the most basic corporate attire, students and businesses included.  However, there were some individuals who stood out to me among the sea of boring black suits. Kudos to these guys for being able to look stylish and professional, as they handed out resumes for potential jobs or advertised their business to the people in attendance.

An Art Deco Cruise

Before airplanes and road trips took over America, the cruise was the premier vacation.  You get to sail to exotic places while dining with the captain, play shuffleboard with your neighbors, or simply take a stroll on the deck to gaze upon the starlight reflected on the sea.  Back then, passengers didn’t wear oversized hawaiian shirts or lengthy board shorts.   In the 1930s, people wore their very best while on vacation.  They had casual jackets and pants that today would look too dressy, for even the office.  Keeping with tradition, Spencer and I wore our Sunday best for a little Art Deco cruise on the grand Queen Mary.
